Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management

Our BBA in HRM prepares our graduates to take on a number of roles, including but not limited to specialist roles in job analysis, recruitment & selection, training & development, and compensation & benefits. The program is aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) curriculum and was designed considering input from Houston industry leaders.

Graduates from SHRM aligned programs are eligible for a special SHRM student certification, regardless of their work experience. In addition, this is the only BBA in HRM in the Houston metropolitan area. The closest similar program is offered in Huntsville, TX (75 mi north of downtown Houston).

About the Program

The BBA in HRM consists of 120-hour-credit hours with the following structure:

  • Preparatory Requirements/Common Core Requirements: 42 hours
  • Business Core Requirements: 48 hours
  • HRM Major Requirements: 30 hours (24 hours required, 6 hours elective)

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) - UHD Chapter is an affiliate of SHRM, the world’s largest HR professional society, and linked to HR Houston. SHRM provides education, thought leadership, certification, community and advocacy to enhance the practice of HRM. 

Beta Gamma Sigma is recognized by the national business honorary society, AACSB-International. Its mission is to encourage and honor academic achievement and personal excellence in the study and practice of business. Each year, the UHD Chapter invites juniors and seniors ranking in the top 10% of their class to join.
