Problems with hardware and/or software
If you have a hardware
problem with your laptop, first take it to your CSP instructor. They will
be able to either fix the problem or give you the information necessary to
get your laptop repaired.
If you damage your laptop, report it to your CSP instructor
immediately.
If your laptop is stolen, immediately (within 24 hours) report it to
your CSP instructor, Yesenia Montoya (713-222-5339), and the UH-Downtown
Police Department at 713-221-8065.
If you are having a serious problem with your software,
it may be necessary to re-ghost
your laptop. This is where everything will be wiped clean and re-installed
again. It is VERY important to make back
ups of all your files BEFORE you have your laptop re-ghosted.
Your CSP instructor will determine if you need a re-ghosting or not.
Re-ghosting can be done at UH-Downtown. If the only thing that needs
to happen to your laptop, is re-ghosting, the process has a two-business
day turnaround time.
NOTE: ALL DATA IS LOST, WHEN A LAPTOP IS RE-GHOSTED.
