    Problems with:

    Software and/or Hardware
    Printing
    The network
    All other problems

This plan will outline the steps to take if you encounter problems with your laptop. We have instituted many different types and levels of support with the laptop project. Depending upon what your problem is with your laptop and the seriousness of your problem, you will be guided to the correct area of support.

    Problems with hardware and/or software

If you have a hardware problem with your laptop, first take it to your CSP instructor. They will be able to either fix the problem or give you the information necessary to get your laptop repaired.

If you damage your laptop, report it to your CSP instructor immediately.

If your laptop is stolen, immediately (within 24 hours) report it to your CSP instructor, Yesenia Montoya (713-222-5339), and the UH-Downtown Police Department at 713-221-8065.

If you are having a serious problem with your software, it may be necessary to re-ghost your laptop. This is where everything will be wiped clean and re-installed again. It is VERY important to make back ups of all your files BEFORE you have your laptop re-ghosted. Your CSP instructor will determine if you need a re-ghosting or not.

Re-ghosting can be done at UH-Downtown. If the only thing that needs to happen to your laptop, is re-ghosting, the process has a two-business day turnaround time.

NOTE: ALL DATA IS LOST, WHEN A LAPTOP IS RE-GHOSTED.

    1. A413 classroom.
    2. A414 classroom.
    3. Academic Computing Lab.

If you are having problems printing in the Academic Computing Lab, inform the shift supervisor on duty.

If you are having problems printing at the 4th floor study area, use the phone located next to the printer to report the problem.
