At present I am project director of Spanish for Business Professionals (SBP), a research project funded under the U.S. Department of Education's International Research and Studies Program (CDFA 84.017A, #PO17A60002) to develop intelligent, interactive courseware in Spanish as an international commercial language. The CD-ROM which resulted from this project is the first ever computer-assisted language tutorial to employ natural language processing technology in its interactive component. SBP is currently in beta testing at more than 40 universities worldwide.
