Course Description

First Course required for all Business Majors.  Broad overview of the 4 Ps and how they affect the dynamic
Environment of the business and consumer markets. 

PREREQUISITE: Must have 18 hrs. and  BA 3300 to enroll.

Course Objectives

To creatively learn how organizations in the business world apply the 4 P’s in a competitive environment to gain a sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace.  Real world examples are use.

Not an in-depth Marketing class because for all majors…touches on all major points…If you want an in-depth class, take a Marketing elective.

Textbook theory integrated into the class to show how it is important to use theory to back up practical application.

Follow university catalog as well, as mandated by UHD.

Policies

COURSE POLICY: Students Responsible for all work—adults—no excuse.  This is fast track semester with much to cover.  Be on-line EVERYDAY in VISTA!!!  We will meet at UHD 2 -3 times for presentations.  This will be a  good class if you make it that way.  Work together as a united team…and as individual teams for your presentations.  This semester will be go fast but can be done!!  Hang in there.  You are in control of your grade… I DO NOT GIVE grades!!!!    We will meet face to face for 1st class.

In brief, PLAGIARISM (copying ideas, writings, etc. of another and passing them off as your own) is cheating. Any student suspected of violating this policy will be treated in accordance with the provisions of the Academic Honesty Policy found in the UHD Student Handbook. Please read the Academic Honesty Policy carefully. Any violation of this policy may result in an “F” for the course.

Technology

The system you will use to access this online course is Blackboard Vista. Students are expected to have computer access on a daily basis to successfully complete this course. Note: If you plan to access the course from work, try connecting early in the course. Some businesses have very rigid settings on their firewalls that do not allow participation in activities such as chat, or the interactivity necessary to take a quiz online.
Internet Service Provider - this course is done via connection through the internet. If you are going to work on your class from home, you must have DSL or cable modem line to guarantee solid high-speed access and optimal performance of the course program.
