The CAPS program provides funding and structural support for a number of campus activities that foster a sense of community and support among first-time college students at the University of Houston-Downtown. With the help of CAPS-supported programming, UHD students build a network of peers, access valuable academic resources, succeed in the classroom and persist toward graduation.
CAPS collaborates with several UHD departments to build, improve and promote campus programming that takes a holistic approach to student success, such as:
- Supplemental Instruction (SI)
- Learning and Study Strategy Workshops
- Gator Guides peer mentorship program
- Freshman Seminar
