UHD's Freshman Summer Success
Program is an expanded orientation for incoming freshman, assists students in making the critical transition from high school to the university. It emphasizes academic preparation, enabling students to work with UHD faculty in sample courses such as math, writing, and communication.
FSSP participants meet with student ambassadors, academic advisors, financial aid counselors, and career counselors. Thus, they understand and use the available resources and services, reducing the anxiety arising from being in unfamiliar surroundings.
"I think that without the Summer Success Program, the transition from high school to college would’ve been very difficult." |

"My memory was refreshed in math. When the ambassadors kept saying that we would be fine, I felt more confident about coming here."
