Learner's Community

Learners' Community faculty members collaborate across a variety of academic departments. Linked courses enroll the same group of students in two different academic classes, and faculty teaching those courses work together to develop a curriculum that will bridge the two academic contents - allowing each to inform the other over the course of a semester with some common assignments. These linked courses offer students the opportunity to work closely with classmates and instructors and to make meaningful connections at UH-Downtown.

Linked courses also facilitate faculty collaboration, challenging instructors both to explore new teaching strategies and to consider their course content within the context of another academic discipline, thus expanding their vision of their own and other fields of inquiry.
