dividing the total points earned by the total number of graded semester hours attempted

~EXAMPLE~

Course	Grade	Grade Points	x Credit Hours	= Total Points
ENG 1301	C	2.0	x 3	=6
MTH 1301	B	3.0	x 3	=9
HIS 1305	F	0.0	x 3	=0.0
ECO 1301	A	4.0	x 4	=16.0
Totals			13	=31

Now divide the Total Points by the Total number of Credit Hours attempted to get your GPA

Total Quality Points: 31

Divided by Total Semester Hours

divided by: 13

31/13 = your GPA = 2.38
