Thank you for your interest in Gator Leadership Experience!  Consider developing, excelling, and igniting your experience at UHD to the next level!  GLE is a cohort of 30 highly selective students who have completed 1 of 5 designated College Success Program courses by the end of Fall 2011.  If you are currently enrolled in CSP 1101/ CSP 110W, you are eligible to apply for Gator Leadership Experience. 

 

Through GLE you will be presented with a number of invaluable skills and inclusive relationships:

• Explore academic and career goals
• Develop a deeper understanding of personal and civic responsibilities
• Connect with the UHD community, including peers, faculty, and staff to expand on resources available on and off   campus
• Cultivate influential leadership and team building skills
• Learn the benefits of holding student officer positions within student organizations on campus

Requirements:

• Be currently enrolled in CSP 1101 or CSP 110W that you will complete by the end of Fall 2011-
• Have an anticipated GPA of 2.5 or higher.( If you don’t meet the GPA requirement or/are uncertain of your GPA,     you are highly encouraged to submit an application.)
• Submit one letter of recommendation from a professor of your choice( May be submitted in January. ).

Frequently Asked Questions, FAQ's:
I am currently enrolled in CSP 1101 or CSP 110W (College Success Program) Is applying for Gator Leadership Experience a requirement?
No, it’s not required but highly encouraged. If you apply and are selected, you will gain invaluable knowledge about UHD and your potential as a leader.

Will this be a course in which I enroll?
GLE is a highly selected group of students from designated sections of CSP. You will not have to enroll or register.  If you are selected, you will be informed and will be required to follow scheduled bi-weekly sessions.

Will I be given a scholarship if I am selected into GLE?
If you are selected into GLE, you will be given a book stipend along with a distinctive shirt that will distinguish you as part of a GLE.

What is the time commitment for GLE?
If you are selected into GLE, you will be required to attend bi-weekly sessions. 
The sessions will be held every other Thursday in the Spring semester at a dedicated time and location.

When will I find out if I have been selected for GLE?
Allow for a week and a half after the deadline to receive a response via the email you provided in your application.
