Natioanl Federation of the Blind (NFB)
The National Federation of the Blind will award 30 scholarships to
high-achieving legally blind students. Award ranges from $3,000-$10,000.
Most scholarships will go to full-time students, but one may be awarded
to a part-time student who is also employed full-time and who is going
back to school to improve his/her professional opportunities. Applications
are available through the Disabled Student Services Office, 409-S or call
713-226-5227.
MARION HUBER Learning
Through Listening Awards--For high school seniors with learning disabilities
RFB&D (Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic) presents the Learning
Through Listening Awards annually to a total of six students in two categories:
(1) Three winners will receive $6,000 each (2) Three Special Honors winners
will receive $2,000 each. Applicants must: Have a specific learning disability;
Be registered with RFB&D for at least one year; be a member of a graduating
class of either a public or private high school in the United States or
its territories; Have an overall grade point average of B or above in
grade 10 through 12; Plan to continue formal education beyond high school
at either a two-or four- year college or a vocational school; Provide
evidence or leadership, enterprise and service to others. For more information

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF)

HSF website.
Community CollegeTransfer Scholarship
Program
In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must be U.S. citizens
or legal permanent residents of Hispanic heritage (one parent fully Hispanic
or each parent half-Hispanic); be part-time or full-time community college
students; have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale); and transfer
to an accredited four-year institution. For information visit the website.
Anne Ford Scholarship for student with
learning disabilities (LD)
This scholarship is an annual gift of $10,000 over 4 years to a promising
high school senior with learning disabilities who plans to pursue a university
degree. It is sponsored by NCLD-National Center for Learning Disabilities.
Bank of America ADA Abilities
Scholarship
This is an annual scholarship program that is competitive and based
on academic merit and financial need. Applicant must be a high school
senior, high school graduate, or college student seeking a degree in Finance,
Business or Computer Systems AND plan on a career with a banking institution.
Also must have GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be a US citizen. For more

USA Group
USA Group will award up to $10 million in scholarships over the next
three to five years. The Usa Group Scholarship Program offers additional
financial support to students who have economic need and who also are
either members of ethnic minority groups or have physical disabilities.
American Foundation for the Blind
Freedom Scientific Technology Award Program is providing opportunities
to high school seniors and undergraduate college students who are blind
or visually impaired and plan to continue their education. The Freedom
Scientific Technology Scholarship Award program will help students to
obtain assistive technology to use for their education, future careers
and their everyday lives. The Freedom Scientific Technology Scholarship
Award Program administered by the American Foundation for the Blind will
select four winners of the $2,500 award. The scholarship awards will be
in the form of vouchers to be applied toward the purchase of any of Freedom
Scientific's full-line of products, including hardware, software, accessories,
training and/or tutorials.

Association of Library Agencies
Recruiting people with disabilities into the library profession. Annual
$2500 scholarship for services or accommodations that are either not provided
by law or otherwise by the University to study for a Master's or Doctorate

Ethel
Louise Armstrong Foundation Scholarships for Female Graduate Students
with Disabilities
The ELA Foundation will award one or two scholarships per academic
year depending on merit. Each scholarship awards are up to $2,000.
