Mission Statement

The UHD Academic Advising Center has a team of motivating professionals dedicated and committed to providing quality academic services in order to build the foundation for optimal learning which is essential to first time in college freshman, continuing and transfer students. Advisors promote retention and student success by informing students of the resources that are available to them academically, socially, and personally to achieve their life long goals.

The Major goals of the UHD Academic Advising Center are as follows:

1. Advising will assist and empower students to make academic decisions appropriate to the student's chosen field of study.
2. Advisors will act as mentors to our student population.
3. Advisors will guide students through academic processes and procedures that are integral to their success.
4. Advisors will assist students of the plethora of resources that are available to them academically, socially, and personally.
5. Advisors will assist students who are in various transitional phases of their collegiate education to matriculate through our institution.
6. Advisors will assist and encourage University College students who have completed the necessary requirements to apply to the degree granting colleges as declared majors.
7. Advisors will collaborate with local community colleges in order to create a seamless transition for our future students.
