SOME COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How will I know when my application is completed?
You will be notified directly from your College when your application has completed the review process.

How long does the process take?
Depending upon whether you apply during a peak or non-peak period, the entire process may take up to 8 weeks.

What delays the review process?
The most common delays come from UH-Downtown having outdated transcripts on file for you. You need to ensure that UH-Downtown has the most up-to-date transcripts from ALL other institutions you have attended.

After I submit this application, will I be able to see an advisor in my College?
Only after you are accepted into the College will you be eligible to be advised by your College. In some cases, a temporary advising referral may be given to a student. (Please see an Academic Advisor for more details.)

I was told to apply to the College of Business, is the Application for Official Degree Plan the correct application?
Yes, this is the correct application. You will be asked to declare a major once you have been accepted by the College of Business.

I want to major in Education and am exempt from the TSI requirement, yet my application was not accepted by the Department of Urban Education. Why is that?
All education majors must pass all components of the THEA test. .

What if I want to double major?
When completing your Application for Official Degree Plan, select one major, then refer to your college/ department advisor for your second degree interest.

What if I want to select a minor?
When completing the Application for Official Degree Plan, select one major, then refer to your college/ department advisor for your minor degree interest. Refer to UH-D College Catalog for minor requirements.
