Academic Advising - Continuing College Students (CCS)

A continuing student is an individual who attended and was enrolled at UH-Downtown during the preceding long semester.

  1. The advisors will guide students through academic progresses and procedures that are integral to their success, will act as a mentor to our student population and inform students of the plethora of resources that are available to them academically, socially and personally.  The advisors will assist students who are in various transitional phases of their collegiate education to matriculate through our institution.

  2. Students should bring their advising worksheet to their advising sessions.

  3. Complete the course approval form before meeting with your advisor.

There are a number of helpful tools and programs available to students returning to
UH-Downtown. Be sure to take advantage of them for your college success.

  • The UH-Downtown College Catalog outlines student services, policies and procedures, degree programs, course descriptions, etc.

  • The UH-Downtown Student Handbook outlines students services and policy statements concerning student rights and responsibilities. As a UH-Downtown student, you are responsible for understanding your advising responsibilities and your advisors' responsibilities. The relationship between you and your advisor is a shared responsibility.

It's never too late to look at what the future will hold and UH-Downtown offers students many programs for academic and future success.
