Upon entering UHD, undergraduate students become members of University College. This affiliation remains until they declare a major in one of the degree-granting colleges.

The Road To Olympic Gold

The students above are celebrating new friendships formed at the UHD 2008 Freshman Summer Success Program. This expanded orientation held for a week in July smoothed the transition from high school to university life. This year's theme is centered around the Olympic games:“Body, Mind, and Spirit…Let the Games Begin."
2008 FSSP Highlights:
Saturday kick-off: introducing parents and freshmen to UHD, including financial fitness, strategies for student success, campus organizations, and the general education core.
- • Monday through Thursday academic and social activities: attending sample classes taught by UHD faculty, visiting UHD resources such as the Student Life Center, and interacting with fellow freshmen and upper-classmen.
• Friday processes: completing placement testing, advising, and registration.
•
Concluding events: attending an awards dinner for the students and their parents.
