Texas Higher Education Star Award
In December 2004, UHD Scholars Academy was awarded the Texas Higher Education Star Award, established by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to recognize exemplary contributions toward closing the educational gaps that challenge the state. the Academy has recieved acknowledgement on national and international levels as an exemplar for fostering academic success within an urban university enviroment. UHD Student Research Conference (SRC)
At this campus-wide event, you will have an opportunity to view research and project posters along with oral presentations from our students within the College of Sciences and Technology as well as the Colleges of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Public Service. Graduate School and Internship Fair (GSIF)
The purpose is to help promote students within the Scholars Academy to prospective graduate schools and internships. It additionally serves a second purpose of showcasing the academic projects undertaken by UHD students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Click here for more information.

 

GRE Preparation Workshops at UHD
UHD students/alumni are invited to participate in a comprehensive Graduate Records Examination (GRE) preparation workshop series, an admissions requirement for graduate school. Click here for more information.

Research Opportunities at UHD
We are pleased to announce the Undergraduate Research Program at UHD. Scholars Academy members who are interested in research (in natural sciences, mathematics, engineering and computer science) are encouraged to complete an application ASAP! Click here for more information.

Natural Sciences
SA members, who are at least sophomores and are interested in tutoring NS courses, should contact Dr. Estrera in 725-North. Applications are in the SA office or online.
Computer and Mathematical Sciences
Students interested in tutoring positions for computer science or upper-level mathematics should contact Ms. Mitsue Nakamura.
Lower Mathematics
If you are interested in tutoring lower-level mathematics, please contact Ms. Sangeeta Gad.
Engineering Technology
