When: February 29, 2008 (Friday) from 10am to noon --- This is Tentative
Details: Dr. Yue, CS Chairman at UHCL, and their faculty will give presentations about their graduate programs, research areas, and tour their labs and facilities.
Sponsor: Dr. Ping Chen
Transportation: Car pool on your own. Participants must assemble at Dr. Chen’s office no later than 9am.
Sign-ups: Sign up and complete a release form in the SA Office by February 8. Fieldtrip is limited to 15 students.

Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge
When: March 12, 2008 (Wednesday) from noon to 4 p.m.
Details: Dr. Hoge will conduct a tour of the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge and discuss the various wetland habitats from East Bay through salt marsh, brackish marsh, and fresh marsh ecosystems. Due to the timing of this filed trip, alligators will be abundant in the refuge as well as many birds and mammals.

Transportation: Car pool on your own; however, the UHD van is being requested. Participants must assemble at Dr. Hoge’s office no later than 11:45am.
Sign-ups: Sign up and complete a release form in the SA Office by February 22. Field trip is limited to 12 students.

Math Judging at Science Fair
When: March 14, 2008 (Friday) from 8:30am to noon.
Details: Dr. Yoon will be leading a field trip to “Science Engineering Fair of Houston 49th Anniversary Year” to judge math projects. If interested, please email Dr. Yoon (yoonj@uhd.edu), plus review the SEFH website (http://hunstem.uhd.edu/SEFH)
