|The College of Sciences and Technology (CST) at the University of Houston-Downtown mission is to prepare students for careers in science, technology, mathematics, and computer science. CST is dedicated to providing a variety of educational experiences to meet the intellectual and technical demands for the ever-changing world. CST offers bachelor’s degrees in broad disciplines in the computer science, engineering technology, natural sciences, mathematics and statistics.||

At the heart of the CST experience are major opportunities for students to engage in undergraduate research, working with UHD professors as well as researchers at neighboring research institutions. Similar high-impact experiences are available to students in every program in the college in a variety of contexts ranging from capstone experiences, senior projects, and field experiences.
Additionally, students have opportunities for hands-on teaching experience through the UHD Noyce Mathematics and Science Teacher Scholarship Programs, participation in international summer research, and the Scholars Academy.
CST continuously works with government and industry through cooperative research programs and grants, which enhance the educational environment and experiences of our majors. Students learn by working in diverse teams on faculty-led projects, gaining hands-on experience and advancing their skills and qualifications. Further, our partnership with industry provides opportunities to use their knowledge in professional settings.
The UHD Scholars Academy is an academically competitive program in the College of Sciences and Technology that promote student success for undergraduates majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The College of Sciences & Technology has an array of majors and programs from which to choose. Academic advisors are available at the Academic Advising Centerto help students with their academic needs. In addition, the Career Development Center is available to help students explore and commit to a major or career choice.
