In 1980 while employed as the Clinic Coordinator for the University of
Texas School of Dental Hygiene in Houston, Ms. Coleman earned her Bachelors
degree in Technical Education from the University of Houston College of
Technology. Seita Coleman continued her teaching and clinical dental hygiene
career until 1990 when she was accepted into the Master of Science program
at the University of Texas School of Public Health in the Texas Medical
Center. She completed her degree, Master of Science in Environmental Science/Industrial
Hygiene in 1994. In 1992 while completing her thesis, Ms. Coleman began
her industrial Hygiene career with JK, Inc., a comprehensive industrial
hygiene consulting firm located in Houston, Texas. During her ten year
as an industrial hygienist with JK, Inc. Ms. Coleman has designed and
completed numerous industrial hygiene workplace surveys in sites as varied
as petroleum refineries, chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, and
hospitals, as well as public and private schools in Texas and the United
States. She has designed and presented many training courses in topics
such as: HAZWOPER, Basic Hygiene, Indoor Air Quality, and Mold and Fungi.
Ms Coleman is a Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional by the Association
of Energy Engineers and holds three Texas Asbestos Licenses. Ms. Coleman
is currently the Director of the Houston Chapter of the American Indoor
Air Quality Council and a member of both the American Industrial Hygiene
Association (AIHA) and the American Conference of Governmental Industrial
Hygienists (ACGIH). Seita is an active volunteer with Big Brothers/Big
Sisters of Greater Houston.
