Phil osophy of Education:  Her philosophy is Existentialism where she believes a personal interpretation of the world.  It is based on the view that the individual defines reality, truth and understanding.   Her philosophy on life relates to the "GOT MILK" commercial brand. It is her way of saying that there has to be something within you that makes you strong, exhibits strength that will aid you in your success.  Her strength is in her self-confidence and emotional maturity, not to mention the professional nurturing from her mother.

Research interest Engineering Education., ABET accreditation board outcomes Electrical Engineering -Power systems, EEE parts Integration, Engineering Education, STEM Education and CyberInfrastructure. Curriculum development for STEM students.

Hobbies: horseback riding, reading, tutoring and mentoring

Dr. Coleman is a member and officer of several organizations which include Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Project Science and Everyday Experiences (SEE) Chair; Who's Who of International Professionals, National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)-Lifetime member, Regional Advisory Board R5 Chapter Advisor for NSBE at UHD; Conference of Minority Public Administrators (COMPA), National President; American Association of University Women (AAUW), American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), American Society of Public Administrators (ASPA), National Technical Association, Board of Directors Jossey Hands Inc. and Board of Directors Daniel Jarvis Home Health Agency. In addition, Coleman was selected as Young Engineer of the year during National Engineers week in Houston , TX .

She is in the process of writing her first book. In her leisure time, she encourages students to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering and or Math (STEM). In addition, she volunteers on programs that focus on her deep concern for the plight of people. In addition she is an avid motivational speaker to students. She is a Sunday teacher for the Children's Church at Silverlake Church in Pearland.

She is single, a native of Ft. Worth , Texas and is currently living in Houston , where she still dreams about when she grows up.
