The College of Sciences and Technology prepares students for careers or post-graduate study and research in the sciences, technology, mathematics and computer science. Faculty provide quality instruction as they bring leading-edge science and technology into the classroom. The college responds and works with government and industry through cooperative research programs and grants which enhance the educational environment and experiences of our majors.
The UHD Scholars Academy is an academically competitive program within the College of Sciences and Technology at the University of Houston-Downtown that promotes scholarship and student success for undergraduate students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Along with a rich and rigorous curriculum, the College of Sciences and Technology offers opportunities to do independent research in a number of laboratories, the Center for Applied Polymer Science Research, Center for Computational Sciences and Advanced Distributed Simulation, Integrative Molecular Life Sciences Laboratory, the Thermal Analysis Laboratory and the Elemental Analysis Laboratory.
The College of Sciences and Technology assigns each declared major a faculty advisor/program coordinator to guide them on their degree plan throughout their academic career at the University of Houston-Downtown. Click here for more information about advising.
Scholars AcademyThe Academy is a competitive, scholarship program that promotes student success for undergraduate students in the College of Sciences and Technology who are majoring in computer sciences, engineering technology, mathematics, and the sciences.
