Paula Doan
Major: English
Lead Peer Tutor
Professional Interests: 16th-17th Century British Literature, Freshman Composition.
Paula's personal interests include spending time with her family, attending rock concerts, watching pro wrestling, and finding bargains in upscale resale shops. She collects early 20th century advertisements as art and wants to learn more about American antique furniture.
Jeffery Downs
Humanties Major/English Minor
Jeffery Downs is in his last semester at UHD. He also has a background in Theatre and public speaking, having been onstage and speaking before audiences since he was five years old. He is a feature writer for a small Houston arts and entertainment newspaper, a former contributor for Outsmart magazine, a fanatic journaler, an avid reader and an activist in community affairs. He is the Writing Associate for Professor Gilbert's English 2314, British Literature.

"My career aspirations include publishing a collection of poetry, publishing
fictional novels (one of which I am working on right now), and teaching at the
university level in Ancient World Literature and Creative Writing. I enjoy going
to the Fine Arts Museum and embracing my book-worm side by hanging out in the
Books - A - Million book store and checking out the new book releases as well
as researching in fields such as Psychology, History, and the Sciences. I enjoy
meeting people from diverse backgrounds and learning about new cultures. I used
to be an ESL student, so I particularly relate to those who speak English as
a second language. I love teaching and helping people to better understand subjects;
I love learning and want to inspire others to love it too! (I know, if you look
up geek, you'll see my picture)".

Education Jeannette's personal interests include reading, watching old movies,
going to the opera, and spending time with friends and family. She has traveled
extensively and loves to learn new languages. The languages that she would
like to conquer next are Italian and Portuguese.

Personal Interests: Autumn's main activities include eating, spending time with
family, shopping, running, drawing, eating, cooking, traveling and watching cartoons
and horror movies. She also enjoys sleeping and fishing.
Jacob Reyna

Jacob, who practically lives at UHD, enjoys a good joke and has yet to run out of reasons to laugh. You've probably seen him briskly walking through the main hallway or playing pool in Student Activities. When not bustling through the daily crowd of UHDers, he can usually be found eating tasty food, reading books, or tilting at windmills.

Writing is my passion and pleasure. I love learning and I particularly love to learn new words. I am a Writing Tutor and a Writing Associate. I love to help people write and I enjoy reading. My favorite book of ALL time is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I am also interested in Literary Theory, Feminist Theory, British Literature, Horror Fiction, and of course Science Fiction.
