Ways to Recommend the Writing/ Reading Center (WRoCk) to Your Students:

2. Require students to conference with a tutor prior to submitting revisions to a paper.

3. Give extra points for coming to the WRoCk and conferencing with a tutor for either reading or writing.

4. Give extensions on papers for WRoCk conferences.

5. In your written comments on students' papers, suggest a WRoCk conference for future papers or for reading assignments.

6. Help students prepare for a WRoCk conference by suggesting things they could work on during their WRoCk conference.

7. If students have been to the WRoCk and have submitted their Conference Note to you, review the note. Look at the amount of time they spent in the WRoCk, and discuss privately what happened during the session.

8. Encourage students to return for more than one session. Repeat visits to the WRoCk make better readers and writers.
