Political Science in the Department of Social Sciences

Welcome to the University of Houston Downtown Department of Social Science Political Science Web Page! The role of this web site is to help University of Houston-Downtown students and alumni make informed decisions about their studies and career opportunities in Political Science.  

The political science program at the University of Houston-Downtown consists of 7 full-time faculty, one visiting assistant professor and several adjunct faculty. Our faculty covers a wide subject and geographical areas serving the education needs of the political science majors and the entire UHD student community. We currently offer a B.S. in political science and several different minors. We offer minors in political science, International Relations, and in Public Policy and Administration. We also offer studies in pre-law.
