Organization Description
Our mission is to assure that families have the means to meet their basic needs. To carry out our mission, we assist families facing financial crisis to avoid homelessness, offer programs enabling long-term financial self-sufficiency, assure children an improved school experience, facilitate client access to other support networks, and provide value to our member congregations and the community.

Description of Internship
Assist in all areas of service delivery in MAM Emergency Assistance Services and Program. 
Help with specific projects or programs according to the interest of the intern/student
Assist with phone calls by clients asking for assistance, making referrals where appropriate.
Assist at the reception desk with client intake.
Conduct client interviewers for routine services.
Help publicize various programs in the community.
Document and keep records according to specific program requirements.
Coordinate work with case managers and the Director of Programs for accurate reporting
Update portions of the reference book used by staff and volunteers.                   

Criteria for Interns
Ideal for student majoring in social work, public health, psychology or related fields
Commitment to the mission of MAM
Ability to work as a team member with good interpersonal skills
Self directed
Good attention to details
Flexible; ability to work under stress
