Organization Name CROSSROADS: Community Partnership for Youth, Inc. 6300 Chimney Rock CROSSROADS administers the university intern program for Harris County Juvenile Probation Department. Internship duties vary depending upon the Juvenile Probation Office where you are placed in the greater Houston area. Some of the duties you may be asked to do include: data entry, intake interviews, crisis counseling, telephone contact with clients and their families, home visits with probation officers, school follow-up, and case management. Must be 21 years old, must be enrolled in a higher education program that requires the internship for class credit, internship is not a paid position, prior to attending a mandatory training session, interns must complete an application, must sign an approval form for Probation to do a criminal background check, must obtain signed approval from the University Internship Coordinator on Probation's form. Open to criminal justice, sociology, psychology and social science majors.
