Organization Description
The Children's Assessment Center (CAC) provides an array of services designed to meet the physical and emotional needs of sexually abused children, their siblings and non-offending caregivers. Additionally, we employ bilingual interviewers and clinicians to ensure that all abused children have access to services.
Description of Internship
Interns work primarily in the children’s playroom, where they interact with and guide children’s activities (including games, arts and crafts, reading, etc). Interns must attend 8 hours of training (over two days).
Criteria for Interns
Enjoys working with children, especially those with emotional and/or behavioral issues. Bilingual is a plus, but not a requirement. Interns accepted into the program must submit to a CPS and criminal background check. Open to all Social Science majors, but sociology and psychology majors may benefit the most from this experience.
