BPSOS is a national Vietnamese American community-based organization with branch
offices across the US. Our mission is “empowering, organizing, and equipping

Description of Internship
Title: Domestic Abuse

Description of Internship
Title: Volunteer ESOL & Citizenship Teacher
Hours: Classes are held every Tuesdays and Thursdays evening from 6:00-8:00PM. Or Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am – 12 pm.
Location: BPSOS office or Park Place Elementary
We need volunteers to teach twice-weekly evening classes in basic English for speakers of other languages (ESOL), ESOL for citizenship, and/or civics. Classes should be fun, interactive – and most importantly, effective. Instructional methods will include lectures, worksheets, games, oral and written quizzes, and role plays.
Positions for mock interviewers (volunteers who help immigrants practice for
their citizenship interviews) are available as well, requiring attendance during
class times but no prep time (two to four hours per week).
Positions for one-on-one volunteer tutors or English conversation partners may
also be available on a case-by-case basis.

and fundraising initiatives.
Duties: In this position you will assist BPSOS with the overall growth and strategic direction of our organization and other organizations affiliated with BPSOS, as well as assist with the day-to-day administration, operations, and logistics. Specific duties include:

Requirements (Qualifications): Volunteer should be mature, trustworthy, and dedicated towards serving the Vietnamese community. Bilingual fluency in English and Vietnamese is a must! The individual however does not need to come during office hours and can work from anywhere translating documents including home.
