Organization Description
HAWC provides shelter, counseling and support services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence. This internship is with Children & Youth Services. Interns will be working with children who have witnessed domestic violence.

Description of Internship
Interns will provide care for children while their mother's are in counseling. Interns will receive training in the agency issues and in working with children. Internship hours are mostly evenings and Saturdays. Interns may also have the opportunity to work on the agency’s Crisis Hotline.

Criteria for Interns
Open to all social science majors. Agency does criminal background check on all volunteers, staff, and interns who work with children.
