Child Maltreatment is an epidemic in Harris County. Schools, public and private social service agencies, churches and the general public are all needed to combat violence toward children. The Center for Family Strengths at the University of Houston-Downtown invites you to join us for an all day workshop on how to identify and what to do about Child Maltreatment.
Come hear a dramatic presentation by Sgt. Bill Davis, a retired Beaumont, Texas police officer. As an internationally acclaimed motivational speaker and author, Sgt. Davis has helped over 240,000 people learn how to address Child Maltreatment. He will present all four types of child abuse, including wound identification, physical abuse indicators, the profiles of rapists & child molesters, applicable criminal laws, and mandatory reporting laws. He will also discuss bullying in schools. Sgt. Davis shows how bullies have a direct relationship to domestic violence. He will also present excerpts of his program for teenagers, “Sex and the Law,” which has been shared with over 125,000 teenagers in school districts.
Many people come to a seminar to take notes. Sgt. Bill Davis has done that for you. His booklet has 62-pages of notes so that you listen to this emotional child abuse awareness seminar. The booklet also includes resources such as thought provoking poems and articles on child abuse and positive parenting. The booklet is included in the cost of the workshop.
