Common Core Requirements (42 hours)

Speech 3 hrs. any Speech course except SPCH 1301
Math 3 hrs. MATH 1301, MATH 1310, or any Math course having MATH 1301 as a prerequisite
Natural Sciences 6 hrs. Any two lecture/lab combination courses in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, or Life Sciences.
Computer Literacy 3 hrs. Choose one of the following: CIS 1301, CS 1305, CS 1310, CS 1408, or HUM 2305
Literature 3 hrs. any Literature course
Fine Arts 3 hrs. Choose one of the following: ART 1301, ART 1302, ART 1310, ART 3301, DRA 1301, DRA 3303, DRA 3304, MUS 2301, or MUS 2302
Behavioral Sciences 3 hrs. PSY 1303 is recommended
History 6 hrs. Choose two of the following: HIST 1305, HIST 1306, HIST 2303, or HIST 2309
Political Systems 6 hrs. POLS 2303 and POLS 2303

Literature 3 hrs. any Literature course in addition to the one taken to fulfill the General Education requirement

Social Sciences Electives (36 Hours)

When choosing courses in this category, keep in mind that you may not take more than 18 upper-level (3000 or 4000 level) hours in any single Social Sciences discipline.

#2 Social Sciences Concentration 9 hrs. Choose three upper-level courses in a second Social Sciences discipline from History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology
Social Sciences Elective 3 hrs. Choose one additional upper-level course from any of the Social Sciences disciplines
Social Sciences/Related Disciplines 6 hrs. Choose two additional courses which may be in any of the Social Sciences disciplines or in related non-Social Sciences disciplines. Consult an academic advisor about acceptable courses in related disciplines
Special Projects or Field Experience 3 hrs. Choose SOS 4301 or SOS 4380. This requirement may also be met by taking an additional upper-level course in any of the Social Sciences disciplines instead of SOS 4301 or SOS 4380
Writing Skills 3 hrs. ENG 3302 or another upper-level writing course
Moral Issues 3 hrs. PHIL 3301 or another course to fulfill the ethics requirement

Free Electives (27 Hours)

Any course from any department with the exception of developmental courses (ENG 1300, MATH 0300, MATH 1300, READ 1300)
