Education: Dr. David Fairbanks received his M.A. (1969) and PhD (1975) degrees in Political Science from The Ohio State University and his B.A.(1968) degree from Greenville College.
Dr Fairbanks served on the faculty of Lamar University and Wake Forest University before coming to UHD in 1976. In addition to teaching courses in the American Presidency and Urban Politics, he serves as the university's Associate Vice President for Policy and Planning.
Dr. Fairbanks' more than forty publications include articles on presidential leadership, religion and politics, the Texas Governor, Houston civic groups, and education policy.
