Introduction to the lab for MSPWTC Graduate Students

The MSPWTC Usability and Accessibility Research lab facilitates research, usability testing, and accessibility evaluations and promotes usability and accessibility in the interface between humans and technology.

The lab provides support to the graduate and undergraduate Professional Writing program/curriculum through classroom space, technology access, and usability instruction and training. The lab also supports graduate student research for thesis and capstone projects.

 

Staffed Lab Hours:

Mon: 9-2:30
Tues: 9-5:30
Thur: 9-2:30

 

During the Fall, 2006 semester, the lab is staffed Monday
9-2:30, Tuesday 9-5:30, and Thursday 9-2:30. These hours are subject to change each semester. The MSPWTC program hopes to add evening and/or weekend hours next semester.

If you are unable to visit the lab during the posted hours, please contact Stefanie Matta and we will attempt to reach an accommodation for your schedule.

Remember, the Lab is open to graduate students in the MSPWTC program during all hours of University operations.

  • Screen reading and magnification tools designed to facilitate accessibilty

Equipment Available:

 

The lab is equipped with three Dell desktop computers and a HP Laser Jet printer for MSPWTC graduate student use. In addition, the following equipment is available for graduate student use (on and off site) with approved usability/accessibility projects:

  • 2 Dell Latitude D610 Laptop computers
  • 2 Logitech Quickcam Zoom web cameras with microphone
