BIOGRAPHY
William Nowak received his B.A. in Spanish and English from St. John’s University (Minnesota) and completed his graduate studies at Princeton University (Ph.D., 1992). His area of expertise is medieval and Golden Age Spanish literature, and his research interests include a wide variety of topics, including the Spanish picaresque novel, Golden Age Spanish poetry and the Spanish comedia. He has presented numerous conference papers and published articles about Spanish and Latin American literature in journals such as Hispanic Review and RevistaIberoamericana. Currently he is working on the intersections between literary and visual expression in a study of Pablo Picasso’s interpretations of Fernando de Rojas in the Celestina-themed engravings of Suite 347.
