Minor in General Business

General information

 
• Minor open only to non-business majors.
• Student must file a Notice of Intent to Complete a Minor with the College of Business no later than the commencement of the final 15 hours of semester credit hours work towards the degree.
• Student must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA or better at UHD to be approved to pursue a minor.
• Student must have a 2.0 GPA or better in courses in the minor to be certified at graduation.
• No field experience course may be applied to a minor program.
• The minor field elected must be different from the major.
• Student must complete all course work required for the minor in addition to all course work required for the degree prior to graduation.
• In some instances courses listed as requirements or options for the minor program may have prerequisites which are not listed as part of the program. Prerequisites will not be waived.
• At least 12 of the 18 total hours requires for the Minor in General Business must be taken at the upper division (3000 or 4000 level).

 

 

Required Courses (6 hours):

MGT 3301	Management of Organizations [completion of common core +18 additional hrs, BA 3300]*
MKT 3301	Principles of Marketing [completion of common core + 18 additional hrs, BA 3300]*

Elective Courses (12 hours), Select four courses from these with the following designations:

BA	Business Administration
EM	Energy Management
IRM	Insurance & Risk Management
MGT	Management
MKT	Marketing
PLM	Professional Land Management
SCM	Supply Chain Mangement

No more than 2 courses may be from any one field. At lease 2 courses must be upper-level.
