The College of Business has for many years operated without the benefit of program endowments that help build academic excellence and sustainability. Beginning in 2008, the College is asking its many constituents to become “Academic Partners,” which is also the title of a new annual fund campaign specifically for the College of Business.

“Academic Partners” is a recurring, 12-month campaign featuring an endowment builder function and donor recognition elements, including a Wall of Honor, that are new to the College. Please explore the opportunities for Individual, Corporate, and Foundation giving to the College, and your comments, feedback, and participation are welcomed.

Individual Donors

Has the College of Business at UH-Downtown impacted your life in some way? Do you know someone who turned their lives around by coming to UHD? Are you a grateful parent, a grateful graduate or former student, or a grateful business owner who has come to know the talents of our students and alums? You can acknowledge these associations by giving to the “Academic Partners” campaign or by making a gift directly to specific student organization, or scholarship or academic program.

Corporate Donors

Have our alums and student interns made a favorable impression on you? Has recruiting at the College been favorable for your corporation or divisional office? Honor the star alum in your midst, acknowledge the success of an intern, or express appreciation for the faculty by participating in the “Academic Partners” campaign or by making a gift directly to a specific student organization, or scholarship or academic program.

Foundation Donors

As a trustee or manager of a private or corporate foundation, the College welcomes any honorary or memorial gift recognizing a special person that in some way is connected to both the College and your organization. It can be a trustee or alum who has served with distinction in a public or professional arena that reflects well on the foundation and/or the College. It can be a faculty member that has enjoyed a complementary relationship with the foundation in research or community service. It can be a corporate employee who serves on one of the College’s volunteer boards. Or the foundation can honor a long-standing recruiting or internship program with a gift. The foundation can acknowledge these associations by giving to the “Academic Partners” campaign or by making a gift directly to specific student organization, or scholarship or academic program.

Donor Recognition

The “Academic Partners” donor wall recognizes gifts at eligible levels made during the College’s fiscal year ending each year on August 31.  It also permanently recognizes lifetime cumulative giving by the College’s alums and significant gifts made in the College’s history.  Room plaques are available to eligible donors in addition to the donor wall listing.
