Today more than ever, students must prepare for the unique challenges in an ever changing, global business environment. Corporate executives rely heavily on key individuals in their organization who have a keen business sense, and who possess knowledge and technical skills beyond the average business student.

The FACIS Department at the University of Houston-Downtown prepares its students to compete effectively and successfully in a professional capacity. The department offers a high level undergraduate program. The faculty are known for their high level of quality instruction and for their scholarly research activity. Additionally, several professors maintain close ties to the Houston business community. These relationships help our students obtain job interviews and often result in employment opportunities. They may also provide a networking base upon which the students may begin to build and manage their career.

The department offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with major programs in Accounting, Finance, Computer Information Systems, and International Business. UHD students may also earn minors with concentrations in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance and International Business.
