The UHD Professional Land Management (PLM) Certificate is based on a robust yet flexible curriculum that addresses the need for qualified and skilled land management professionals.

Program Requirements

To receive the UHD PLM Certificate, students must complete and pass six courses in any order. All six courses are offered face-to-face and online. Every month, we offer two of the six required courses, one online and one face-to-face.

  • The syllabus of every online course is completed over a one-month period.
  • Students must progress through the course assignments keeping pace with the course’s weekly schedule and the instructor’s due dates.
  • Each class consists of quizzes, exams, group assignments, etc.
  • Videos and presentations are available to students and accessible online.
  • Course fee includes textbook and other required course materials.

Blackboard

Classes are conducted through Blackboard Learn, an effective learning management system used by many universities. Online classes keep participants involved through online discussion boards, on-demand and interactive content, short videos and weekly assignments.

Attendance

While there is no specific day or time that students must log in to Blackboard, online courses follow a consistent weekly work routine. You can complete your lesson during the week when it is convenient for you, as long as you keep pace with your course’s weekly schedule. Meeting your instructor’s due dates will allow you to maintain a balance between the course material and other life events like family and work.

Schedule

Class begins the first Monday of each month according to the class schedule. Students must progress through the course assignments keeping pace with the course’s weekly schedule and the instructor’s due dates. See PLM Certificate Online Course Schedule.

Fee

The registration fee for each online courses is $660. Register early and receive a discount of $60.

Registration requests will not be considered if submitted after the registration deadline. Before the start of class, an email will be sent from plm@uhd.edu to the student with account and login information.

  • No refunds will be given for withdrawals or reschedules requested later than five business days from a class start date.
  • Reschedules requested later than five business days but not exceeding 10 business days from a class start date are eligible to have the class tuition fee applied toward another class minus a processing fee of $100.

All registrations will be confirmed by email. Withdrawals or reschedules must be requested by email. Send all correspondence to plm@uhd.edu.

Cancellation Policy

Any and all fees paid toward classes canceled by UHD will be promptly refunded or applied to a later class date at the customer's discretion. All registrations will be confirmed by email.
In the event the university is officially closed due to natural or manmade disaster, course activities will be suspended until the university officially reopens. All decisions will be communicated through the same channels that the university uses to communicate with students during disasters. Adjustments to the syllabus may be made by the instructor, as appropriate.
