admissions and registration


In order to be considered for the program, students must submit an application to the College of Business, Continuing and Professional Education office and have one of the following credentials:


  • Referred by a financial services institution and at least a minimum of 6 accredited semester hours in Accounting or


  • Undergraduate business degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or


  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate business program, with no more than 12 semester hours remaining and a minimum GPA of 3.0


Submit your online application on or before August 7, 2015. After reviewing your credentials, one of our admissions officers will contact you. **Eligible applicants lacking the required accounting skills will be automatically enrolled into a one-week accounting review which will begin on August 17, 2015.  This course should be successfully completed by August 23, 2015. Once accepted into the program, you will receive an email with instructions to register online.


Register on or before August 12, 2015. This 16-week program starts on August 24, 2015. Classes will meet on Mondays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Tuition fee is $2,500. Late registration tuition fee is $2,700 and late registration deadline is August 14, 2015.

Withdrawal, Reschedule, and Refund Policy

Withdrawals requested within five (5) business days from a class start date will result in a full refund minus a processing fee of $150.

Withdrawals or reschedules requested later than five (5) business days from a class start date will result in no refund.

Cancellation Policy

Any and all fees paid toward classes cancelled by University of Houston Downtown will be promptly refunded or applied to a later class date at the customer's discretion. All registrations will be confirmed by email.

In the event that the university is officially closed due to natural or manmade disaster, activities in the course will be suspended until the university officially reopens. All decisions will be communicated through the same channels that the university uses to communicate with students during disasters. Adjustments to the syllabus may be made by the instructor, as appropriate.
