About the Director


Carolyn Ashe, Ed.D., is a professor and Director of the Institute for Business, Ethics and Public Issues in the College of Business. She formerly served as the Assistant Department Chair in the Management, Marketing and Business Administration Department.

Dr. Ashe coauthored a textbook, authored refereed journal articles, and contributed to other scholarly and creative work. Her research interests and presentations include business ethics, ethical and business communication, management and organizational behavior, telecommunications and distance learning.

She has received multiple awards and recognitions; among them:

  • Professional/Institutional Service Award/UHD, 2014
  • University Faculty Development Grant (2010)
  • Minnie Stevens Piper Award Nominee (2007)
  • Teaching Excellence Award (2006)
  • Online Teacher of the Year (2003)

She was one of 27 international scholars invited to participate in the Oxford Round Table at University of Oxford in England. This international session focused on "Ethical Sentiments and the World Financial Crisis" and was an invitation-only round table.
