The University Academic Affairs Council is a voting body, which makes formal recommendations to the president on all policy matters having direct impact on the academic environment. The Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost serves as the council's chair.
The Provost serves on the University of Houston System’s Provosts’ Council, which reviews all new program proposals coming from the component universities of the UH System and oversees those system-wide academic initiatives. The Provost meets regularly with the Academic Deans Council, which functions in advisory body on all academic matters.

W. I. Dykes Library
The W. I. Dykes Library is located on the fourth and fifth floor of the historic One Main Building. The library provides books, journals, and audiovisual materials to meet lifelong learning needs of the faculty, staff, and students of UHD. In addition to UHD resources, we offer full borrowing privileges at the libraries at the other University of Houston System campuses.
Office of International Education
The Office of International Education helps support the University’s international initiatives through the collection and distribution of information, and by overseeing UHD Study Abroad Scholarship program.
The mission of the Office of Institutional Research (IR) is to effectively and efficiently provide the planning and institutional research support needed by the University.
