J. Don Boney, 1975-1979

Dr. J. Don Boney came to the newly created UH Downtown College from his presidency at the Houston Community College System.   He earned a bachelor's degree from Prairie View A&M and a master's and doctorate from the University of Texas.   Prior to assuming his role at HCC in 1973, Dr. Boney served as Acting General Superintendant of the Houston Independent School District.   Dr. Boney remained in his position as chancellor of UHDC until his death in 1979.
