The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is administered every three years to a random sample of first-year and senior undergraduate students. It was most recently administered in spring 2013.
In spring 2013, the university invited 6,706 students (2,012 freshman-level students and 4,694 senior-level students) to participate in the survey through email invitations.
At the conclusion of the survey administration, 1,011 UHD students participated in the survey (227 freshman-level students and 784 senior-level students).
The overall response rate for UHD was 18%, with a senior-level response rate of 19% and a freshmen-level response rate of 15%.
UHD asks students about their future plans when they apply for graduation. In spring 2014, UHD awarded undergraduate degrees to 896 students and 94 percent (838) responded to the survey.
