The University of Houston-Downtown has authorized a compensation study for faculty, staff and administrative positions. The project is being managed by Employment Services & Operations (ESO) under the direction of Ms. Ivonne Montalbano.
The primary goals of the study are to have a compensation system that administers salaries in a fair and equitable manner, in line with resources and competitive needs, and to ensure competitive compensation relative to the markets in which the University competes.
The purpose of the study is to develop and deliver accurate and comprehensive job documentation and market-based salaries, which will assist in the retention of qualified and best employees, and contribute to maintaining UHD’s attractiveness in the labor market.
The study will examine the job’s predominant duties and functions for appropriateness of classification, in order to foster a fair and competitive compensation strategy.
The study will not reduce anyone's current pay nor result in major adjustments to employees’ responsibilities. The study should not be construed as a promise to increase everybody’s salaries.
UHD awarded a contract to Ulibarri-Mason Global HR LP (“Global”), a Dallas based human resources consulting firm for strategic consulting services to help UHD carry out and complete this initiative.
